October 2011 Chapter Meeting Recap

Thank you to all that attended our October meeting.  We were all enlightened by Rich Ackerman in regards to metrics and KPI’s.  They are vitally important when wanting more from executive management.

A special thank you to Rich for traveling from Chicago and being our speaker.

AITP Region V 2011 Technology Conference

Just a quick FYI that the AITP (Association of IT Professionals) Region V is having their annual technology conference at the Radisson Hotel and Convention Center in Green Bay October 19, 2011.

You can find more information on their conference web page.

AITP is a great organization of IT professionals. The Northeast Wisconsin Chapter and Titletown HDI have been collaborating on a few things over the past few years. I presented at one of their chapter meetings last spring and I am honored that they have asked me back to be part of a panel on social media in the IT enterprise.

The region V conference is a great opportunity to network with IT professionals from around the midwest and learn a few things.

I hope to see you there!

UPDATE: Oct 4, 2011 – I have been informed that AITP has extended their conference membership pricing posted on the link/site above to HDI members.

2011 Titletown HDI Golf Outing

The weather was nice and cool and overcast at Mid Vallee Golf Course with very little wind which made for some awesome golfing conditions.

To save time and sanity we golfed nine holes instead of 18 and played best ball (made the score(s) look much better). More importantly, we had a great time and enjoyed ourselves immensely.

We wish that more members could have joined us but we understand how summer can be and can respect your time off.

Look forward to seeing everyone in September and enjoy your summer.

2011 Local Chapter Officer Summit

Paul Strei (VP of Membership) and Bob Wery (VP of Communication) attended the LCO Summit this year in Colorado Springs, CO. Being longtime friends they decided to make the travel portion of the trip a “road trip” and soon found out they are too old for this type of travel.
Great networking opportunities were had with the many meet ups they attended each evening and during the conference. They were concentrating on two main items – growing membership and engaging programs for the chapter. They learned a lot and made some outstanding contacts throughout HDI and this will in turn make the chapter stronger.
